The Midweek Hop - Garden of Eden

A weekly musical feature inspired by Desmond Carrington's 'The Music Goes Round'

The legendary 'Wurlitzer 1015' 1946 Jukebox
The legendary 'Wurlitzer 1015' 1946 Jukebox

This weeks theme is...Garden of Eden

Inspired by our trip to see Eddie Izzard at Cornwall's Eden Project

1. Garden of Eden by Frankie Vaughan

A perfect song to accompany a day out at the Eden Project!
'Garden of Eden' entered the chart on 11th January 1957 reaching Number 1

2. 10,000 Years Ago by The Vipers Skiffle Group

When you were a child, you thought your grandparents were ancient and had seen everything - the singer certainly has!
'10,000 Years Ago' was the B-side to 'Don't You Rock Me Daddy-O' which entered the chart on 25th January 1957 reaching Number 10
Please note the video is a cover by another skiffle group as The Vipers Skiffle Group are incredibly hard to find on YouTube!

3. (If Paradise Is) Half As Nice by Amen Corner

Not quite the paradise Amen Corner were thinking of, but inside the Eden Project biomes, it's pretty close
'(If Paradise Is) Half As Nice' entered the chart on 29th January 1969 reaching Number 1

Happy listening!
