This (Long) Weekend at the Duckpond

We have mostly been...

Marvelling - at the clear blue skies and gorgeous weather. Both Easter bank holiday weekend *and* the early May bank holiday weekend sunny? Almost unheard of here in the UK! Surely we can't be third time lucky with the late May bank holiday in a few weeks!?

Musing - whether to buy some very plump and juicy-looking strawberries from Farringtons Farm Shop (we didn't in the end but we'll be back to buy them at some point!).

Munching - on a delicious portion of fishcakes and chips from The Scallop Shell chip shop. It's based at another fairly local farm shop (about a 20 minute drive away) - White Row Farm and Shop in Beckington just outside Frome. They specialise in sustainably caught seasonal fish and do a fascinating array of different types to have with your HP and wooden fork. Well worth a visit!

Licking - an apple crumble ice cream topped with Rodda's clotted cream. Over at Farrington's there's a new ice cream parlour that's just opened, Oliver's Ice Cream - fancy pants artisan ice cream makers with flavous such as Thatcher's Cider sorbet and Key Lime Pie. My lovely friend M went there last weekend and recommended it, then promptly instructed Andrew that he just *had* to take me there over the bank holiday - what with me recovering from an operation and all...

Loving - the breakfasts that Farringtons make (this is beginning to sound like a sponsored post, believe me it's not - we just really like Farringtons!). My parents gave me two £10 vouchers to spend there for my birthday last year so we used one of them to buy our two all day breakfasts. And very tasty they were too!

Celebrating - a new Mr and Mrs at a wedding evening do on Saturday night. The wedding itself was a small family affair but the evening do was full of cider, choons, and cheer!

What did you get up to at the weekend?
Hope you all had a good one!
