Day 4 of Rosalilium’s 'Blog Every Day in May' Challenge
I wasn't sure what to write for this one, I wouldn't say I'm a huge Sci-Fi geek; I like it but that's about as far as it goes. So full credit to the other half for thinking of something to meet today's challenge.
So here you go (courtesy of Andrew) - a look at how Sci-Fi has managed to infiltrate our everyday language - how many of these do you find yourself saying?
Beam me up Scotty
42
Help me {replace with appropriate name}, you're my only hope
Don't forget your towel!
I am your father
Exterminate
Live long and prosper
(and of course...) Phone home
I'm sure you all know exactly where they're from but I'll ask the question anyway - name the film? :-)
What's the third quote from? I know all the others (which I am rather surprised by, as I don't like Sci Fi much at all). Just saw my logo in your sidebar too :) Eep! xxx
ReplyDeleteThe third one is from Star Wars, Episode IV (A New Hope).
Delete"Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope."
Katie - I definitely think your logo enhances my blog front page! I love it! :-) xxx
DeleteGold star for Angela! :-) xx
DeleteI know too many Star Trek quotes that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I didn't think I knew very many but it's suprising how many you do know when you start thinking about it! :-) x
DeleteHa, love this take on the prompt...I know a few too many of those. I have a serious sci-fi problem!
ReplyDeleteM x Life Outside London
Thanks Michelle! Also, a "serious sci-fi problem" - sounds a little bit like something you might get a cream for! :-) xx
DeleteI'm a hoopy frood. I know exactly where my towel is!
