This Weekend at the Duckpond

We have mostly been...

Gromit Spotting - in Cheddar Gorge.
The new charity 'Gromit Unleashed' trail around Bristol and the surrounding areas also has one Gromit hidden away in near Cheddar Gorge Caves; he's called aMazing Gromit.
If you're in Bristol over the summer the Gromit trail is completely free - there's 80 Gromits to find and they've all been decorated and named (there's some great names in there - Isambark Kingdog Brunel, anyone?)
At the end of the summer they're all being auctioned to raise money for Bristol Children's Hospital.

Listening - to Pearl Lowe talk about her new book, 'Vintage Craft' at Toppings Bookshop in Bath.

Exploring - the local area with an evening drive around the Mendips.

Duck Watching - at Chew Valley Lake and a stream next to Nunny Castle, Somerset.
The mother duck there was extremely proud of her eight ducklings!

What did you get up to at the weekend?

  1. I love the Gromits!

I'm also quite tempted by that Pearl Lowe book after seeing an interview with her in last months Mollie Makes magazine. Love her style.

    What a lovely weekend x

    1. Pearl Lowe was really good, she even passed round some of her crafty lace things (cushions, bags, etc). We stupidly sat in the wrong place for the talk though and it was really difficult to get pictures without looking like some kind of weird nutcase.

I love the Gromits as well! There's 80 of them to find; I've only papped 3 so far but I'm gonna go on a Gromit hunt several times over the next few weeks and do a few blog posts on them. Everyone will be bored stiff of Gromits by September! :-) x
