This Weekend at the Duckpond

We have mostly been...

Promenading - along Weymouth seafront in the lovely sunny weather, with a swim in the sea, a sit on the beach and fish & chips to finish off the day.

Making Music - in an old 89 key Gavioli fairground organ.
While I spent Saturday finding Gromits and watching a show in Bristol, Andrew spent the day feeding books of music into a fairground organ at a steam rally.

Laughing and Crying - at the final UK performance of Kneehigh Theatre's 'Tristan and Yseult' show at the Bristol Old Vic.
It was the 9th time I've seen that show and it was just as magical as it was the first time I saw it back in 2003.
The cast got a (well-deserved) standing ovation and ended up having to do 5 curtain calls!

Gromiting - as the practice of finding giant Gromit figures in Bristol is now called.
There's 80 in total - we found 13 on Friday night, and I found 25 on Saturday, add in the 3 we found the other week and we've found a grand total of 41 Gromits. Only 39 to go then!

Sightseeing - on Friday night with Andrew around the Bristol suburbs and on my own in the city centre, both times whilst Gromiting.

What did you get up to at the weekend?

  3. I love the Gromiting! In Colchester, to celebrate the zoo's birthday, there are loads of giant giraffes all over the place, and the aim is to find them all! There is an app you can download to scan them once you have found them. It's such good fun!

Weymouth is looking lovely in the sunshine! :)
