Day 11 of Rosalilium's blog every day in November challenge
Remembrance Day
(Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in the Commonwealth. Interpret however you see fit.)
There are no words really; just remember fallen heroes and what we all fought for.
If you do have a minute or so though, just watch this Carnival float from a few years ago called 'Spirit of the Blitz'.
It was a tableau float (which means the performers depict a still life scene, holding their poses for the whole 2 hour procession) and won many awards for how it was built, how it was designed, how it was depicted and the moving atmosphere it created as it travelled along the road.
I know it's not the same as seeing it in real life, and I don't know about yourself, but just watching and listening to it on YouTube moves you, chills you and makes you feel very proud.

What an amazing float! HOW did they hold those positions for so long!x
ReplyDeleteAhh, years of practice and experience! It's not a skill I particularly want to learn but I take my hat off to anyone who can do it :-)
DeleteThis is beautiful, and must have been very moving to be there.
ReplyDeleteLest we forget.
Sarah xx
It was incredibly special to be there, the whole crowd fell silent each time it went past. xx
