This Weekend at the Duckpond

We have mostly been...

Collecting - books from the library, including one I'd reserved - The Mabinogion - which is number 2 on my 33 before 33 list (well, actually reading it is anyway).

Books collected from the library

Participating - in Jane's photo an hour challenge, the first one of 2015. I think quite a few people joined in this time so pop over to Jane's blog during the week to see who else took part.

Baking - Mincemeat and Marzipan Teabread, using up the last of the Christmas mincemeat. It's from a BBC Good Food book but you can find the recipe over on Google Books.

Clearing - out our old bedroom ready for it to be decorated, I think we're going with a grey and pink theme although we still have yet to actually buy the paint.

Washing - I did nine loads of laundry this weekend. Nine, I tell you! Okay, so we did change all the bedding around last week and I maaaay have actually not done any since the beginning of January. Yeah, I suppose that'll be why.

Listening - to a few different podcasts. As per my 33 before 33 list, I've been trying to train myself to listen to chatter and do another task at the same time. I've been listening to The High Tea Cast, Rhod Gilbert's Best Bits, Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast this weekend whilst cleaning and tidying but if you've got any recommendations, chuck 'em my way!

What did you get up to at the weekend?

  1. Well done on the laundry - my laundry basket is woefully overflowing and feel a bit guilty about it!

  2. Well done on the laundry! I'm okay at the laundry part but it's the ironing pile which trips me up...

  4. Ooh let me know what you think of The Radleys, I read it a few years ago and thought it was a bit weird... :)

  5. I didn't do much this weekend and certainly not nine loads of washing! You were much more productive than I was.

  6. Library books - yay!

I love the idea of grey and pink as a colour scheme, I bet that will turning out lovely.

I spent yesterday doing five loads of laundry. Our machine broke and we just got a new one on the weekend. We hand washed for a while, but there is only so much of that before the prospect gets unbearable!

  7. That teabread sounds amazing! I made one last batch of mince pies last week, with my leftover mincemeat but I'm trying that teabread next time :)

Nine loads of washing sounds scary....

  8. That's a whole load of washing you have there. I don't think if I washed every piece of clothing I owned it would make it to 9 loads!

  9. Nine loads of washing?! That's a washing success... I don't even have enough space to dry two loads! I don't think I could handle nice. Hats off to you!

I failed epically at the photo an hour on the weekend, but I'm excited for next months one!

I think I'm going to have to find some mince meat recipes because I have loads in the fridge and some in the cupboard. I need to get cracking and make some mince pies and something else!
