Blogland Brilliance
Michelle shared some things she's learned about marriage - I've been hitched for 7 and half years now and I can testify that she speaks the truth!
Dawn has compiled an ultimate (tongue in cheek) list of how to be a blogger - newbies and oldies, go check it out.
Janet and Sophie have some excellent advice about taking pictures of yourself - Janet's 'How bad outfit photos taught me to stop fearing the camera' and Sophie's 'How everyone can get nice pictures of themself' are both well worth a read.
Another list, Leona's written all the things she wished she knew while growing up - ah, hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Alice has only gone and made a wedding cake - a proper tiered iced big day cake! Go Alice!
Hannah's post on the art of writing Christmas lists is excellent; I really need to write one for Andrew (a real one and a fantasy one) so I'm going to use Hannah's advice and make a start (first up on my list is a non-manky ankle).
Amy's post about being a juror is really interesting; I've never been called up but I know people who have and I remember watching a brilliant theatrical version of '12 Angry Men' (starring Bill Bailey amongst many others) at the Edinburgh Fringe back in 2003.
Rebecca took part in Jane's photo an hour challenge and ended up where I was on the same day last year - North Petherton Carnival!
Hungry? How about...
Amy's Apple Cupcakes with Maple Syrup Frosting
Candy's Perfect Banana Bread
Sammie's White Chocolate and Strawberry Bread and Butter Pudding
I'm excited...
For a couple of reasons, I booked tickets to see Kneehigh Theatre's new show 'Rebecca' next March and also tickets to see the new theatre show of 'Mrs Henderson Presents...' in August, both of them playing at Bath's Theatre Royal.
I also got to meet David Mitchell! Yay! We went to a talk by him on Monday evening, all about his new book which he signed afterwards and posed for photos. He was a lovely guy, funny and great to listen to - Victoria Coren Mitchell is a one lucky lady!
Blogs I've followed this week...
Fi and Me
Pointless Pretty Things
The Dressmaking Diaries
Candy Apple Darling
Like A Skeleton Key
Under A Glass Sky
Fluffy Owl's Adventures
Some DIY projects...
Over at Eight and Sixteen Erin and Skye both took on the challenge of upcycling a tea towel - Erin made an apron and Skye made a lunch bag.
Claire turned her autumnal Graze box into a cool hanging garland.
H and Sammy put together instructions for a DSLR camera pouch.
This week's Carnivals...
The last of the really big processions take place this week with Shepton Mallet tonight, Wells on Friday night and Glastonbury on Saturday night. There's a couple of small ones down in Devon at the end of November and beginning of December but for about 80% of the entrants in the Carnivals, once Saturday is over it's time to take it all apart, strip it all down and start again ready to build another float for next year.
What's new with you?
I was at the David Mitchell event and I now realise that I saw you, but didn't know at the time that it was you ... otherwise I would have spoken. As you say it was a good evening. Small world isn't it!
ReplyDeleteOoh, he looks different in real life!!! I do like your posts 'Here is the news' - how flattering to be included in someone's round up like this- it's a great idea! I keep meaning to write about bloggers whose posts I enjoy and it just never happens that I finish them off!
ReplyDeleteWell, I've just discovered some brilliant new blogs- thank ye muchly :) xxx
