Back on the 5th July we popped over to the Dig for Victory Show at the North Somerset Showground. It’s been running for 4 years on a slightly smaller scale at Tyntesfield House and this year for the first time, it moved to a larger site.
I first heard about the show back in October last year when I went to the Pretty Nostalgic Vintage Gathering at King Weston House. The team from the show had a stall there and when I got home I looked at their website and realised they were accepting all vehicles through the ages for their display. We had planned to enter Andrew’s 1952 Scammell lorry (which interestingly, is actually based on a 1940s chassis design) but then his dad got ill back at the beginning of the year and we missed the deadline for entering.
So instead, we thought we’d pop over and have a nosy, try and scout the place out ready for next year’s show. I’m happy to report that it was a lovely day, with far too many tasty-looking things to eat, far too many things to watch and far too many gorgeous dresses to buy. If they’ll have us, we’ll definitely be entering the lorry next year (plus raving about the show to all our other ‘lorry/vintage type friends’).
See you there next year!
