At Great Dorset Steam Fair last week, as well as all the steam engines and entertainment, there was a huge variety of food stalls and outlets all across the site and a delicious food hall. We made it over to the food hall almost every day just for all the free samples of sausages, jam, fudge, cheese, crackers, and bread - they even had duck burgers and duck dogs!
Foodie highlights included...
Nachos with cheese and chicken, yum!
Bratwurst
A whole pizza with chicken and tomatoes
A pint of very refreshing orange juice in a proper old fashioned milk bottle
Huge slabs of cake made by a very friendly elderly couple
It was a shame to have to come home and eat "normally" again!
That cake looks heavenly! Glad you had a good time, bet it was lovely x
ReplyDeleteIt was very tasty! It's a great show, worth visiting if you get a chance :-) x
DeleteOh wow that cake looks amazing! And absolutely massive! Love the orange in a milk bottle as well, so cute! Looks like a dead fun day! I love these type of posts :) suzy xx
ReplyDeleteThey were huge slabs of cake - I had a piece of lemon drizzle cake and it was a job to finish it all! (although somehow I managed...) :-) xx
DeleteThose cakes are seriously huge! I'm really liking the orange juice in the milk bottle, so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe orange juice was lovely, proper fresh stuff and just what we needed in the middle of a hot day :-) x
DeleteLove those cake stalls and I'm totally stealing their cake signs on lollipop sticks idea for the PTA cake table.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks incredible, yet another reason that I need to go to a steam fair! BTW, how were the duck burgers/dogs? Did you have a sample?
I know, the sticks are such a fab (and easy) idea!
DeleteWe did have a sample of duck sausages - they had an unusual flavour but were really tasty (Andrew kept joking that it was sacrilege to eat duck though!) :-) The company was called Somerset Ducks if you ever spot them about :-) x
