A Photo Every Hour - Saturday 16th May 2026

Saturday 16th was the date chosen for May's photo an hour. We went out for the afternoon to visit my brother; it ended up raining so we just took a drive and found a couple of local cake sheds! In the evening, it was Eurovision so we settled down to watch that - it was a fab song that won the contest!

A three month round-up to do this time! Carnival season here in Somerset has taken up most of our time and there just hasn't been the time to do the usual photo an hour round-ups.

Saturday 20th September was a carnival day on the Wessex circuit of processions. That day it was the turn of Frome Carnival and there was a children's afternoon procession and an evening procession.

A Photo Every Hour - Saturday 19th July 2025

Saturday 19th was the date chosen for July's photo an hour. Lily and Andrew were camping at a local steam rally so I had (almost) the day to myself. I say almost as my uncle was staying at ours for the weekend but heading down to the steam rally himself for the day. The reason I stayed home was that I had tickets to see Tim Minchin in Bath in the evening with a friend! It was a fabulous show and made even better by the fact that our tickets got upgraded when we arrived (there was an issue with our booked seats) meaning we ended up 4 rows from the stage!

Saturday 15th was the date chosen for February's photo an hour. My Mum's birthday would have been the week before so we thought it might be nice to remember her by taking a trip to one of her (and our) favourite seaside spots - Teignmouth in Devon. Saturday 18th January was the first photo an hour date of 2025. We headed out on a day trip for Lily's birthday (which was the following week). She'd requested a local drive thru cafe for breakfast and a visit to the New Forest to see the ponies for the afternoon. We finished the day with a stroll on Bournemouth beach and fish & chip dinner.

Saturday 16th was November's photo an hour date - the last big carnival of the season here in Somerset! We had breakfast and then Andrew collected my brother from his care home whilst I sorted out all the carnival costume bits from the previous night's procession in Wells.
