The Me Time Tag

The other month gorgeous gal Sophie from over at Sophie Louise Anne tagged me in 'The Me Time Tag', herself tagged by equally fabulous lady Danielle from over at Underland to Wonderland. I don't need to tell you to check them out because you're probably following them already, all of you being readers of discerning taste.

The Me Time Tag

So onto the questions (although I should probably add a disclaimer that on one hand, I don't feel as if I have enough 'me time' (in whatever format that's supposed to mean), but on the other hand I'm well aware that for me, I'm happiest when busy so 'me time' is quite often spent sorting out my wardrobe or organising some holiday or party).

1) What do you watch/read during 'me time'?
That'd be whatever book I'm currently reading – at the moment it's Bloggers' Book Club choice, The Opposite of Loneliness by Marina Keegan. Watching stuff tends to include whatever we've got stored on our hard drive, usually the latest TV shows from about 6 weeks ago.

2) What do you wear during 'me time'?
A very boring answer - usually whatever I've had on during the rest of the day. I'm lucky that my workplace is smart but not too corporate so most of the time I don't feel as if I need to get changed the moment I get home from work.

3) What are your 'me time' beauty products?
Umm, so I guess by the age of 32 I probably should have had some kind of beauty regime sorted. Can I count a nice hand cream as my beauty product?

4) Current favourite nail polish?
I counted up my nail polishes the other month and somehow, despite being someone who's not that into beauty products, somehow I’ve managed to amass 49 of the things. I think I need to try and wear one a week and then within a year I'll be able to see which ones are favourites and which are a bit meh. The last colour I wore was a shimmery gold one.

5) What do you eat/drink during 'me time'?
A mug of tea and usually no food; I'm quite good at not needing to eat, if I get involved in some other activity then it just doesn't come to mind. Plus I don't tend to keep sweets, biscuits or crisps in the house so if I want a biscuit I have to make some and then that's an incentive to do some baking.

6) Current favourite candle?
I don't go in for spending a fortune on smelly candles so my current (read: always) favourite are these multi-pack ones from Ikea that you get free with your Ikea Family card.

7) How do you spend outdoor 'me time'?
Browsing round charity shops, wandering around the seaside or swimming in an outdoor pool.

8) Would you go and see a movie alone?
Absolutely. I did this quite a lot at University, Wednesday afternoons were excellent with student tickets only costing a few pennies and more often than not, the whole auditorium to yourself. I've been to the theatre on my own hundreds of times too.

9) Favourite online shop?
I've been doing a 'buy nothing new from the high street' sort of thing this year and of course, that includes online shops as well. To be honest, it's not that much of a challenge as I've spent years buying stuff from charity shops anyway but there's three online stores that are my downfall: Joe Browns, Lady Vintage London and of course, Asda - the dresses and the bedding.

10) Anything else to add? Any other thoughts/plans for 'me time'?
If someone could arrange for everyone to have a few more hours in the day, then that would be excellent, thank you.

  1. Lovely post! I've been reading this with a mug of tea in my hand so I'm definitely going to count this as my me time. Totally with you on the candle thing, the cheaper the better!

  3. Oh I love this post! I'm like you about not needing to eat, esp when at home. Often, if I get involved making cards, I might go all day without food just making, making, making. You are so lucky living near the sea!!! x

  5. This is fun :) I like that you've classed charity shopping counts as an outdoor activity! FINALLY something"outdoorsy" that I can honestly say I enjoy :p

I hope hand cream counts as a beauty routine. If not all I've got is "brushing my teeth" :) xxx
