This Weekend at the Duckpond

We have mostly been...

Discovering - our very first 'cache'. Geocaching is something I always thought sounded interesting and I signed up for an account back in 2009 but like so many things, I never got round to doing anything about it. However, I spotted this article last Thursday all about why Carl and Ellie (from 'Up') would love geocaching and suddenly remembered I had a profile on the site, cue wasting spending several hours learning all about it and searching the map to see what was around locally. Turned out there was a cache only a proverbial stone's throw away from Andrew's workshop the other side of the campus where we both work so we spent Friday lunchtime hunting out a small box - which ended up being rather fun. I think it's something we may well do more often.

Defrosting - yet another freezer. We have two of them and this week it was the fridge-freezer's turn to soak the floor and create a huge mess in the kitchen (why, when you've got towels, trays and even a spout, does the floor still end up like a lake?) .

Painting - the last bit of the bedroom we've been redecorating. Once that had dried, we got started with cleaning it up and moving stuff around.

What did you get up to at the weekend?

  2. Thanks very much for linking to my blog :) I'm glad my post reminded you to give geocaching a go. You definitely found a much better cache than I did! I had quite a productive weekend too. Altered a couple of dresses that were too long and made a start upcycling an old chair. Usually I just spend my weekend in front of the telly.

  3. I had band practice on Saturday morning and on Sunday I went to see the snowdrops at Great Chalfield Manor, enjoying the unexpected sunny weather. I do a bit of geocaching from time to time and it is a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Your newly decorated room looks good - will we get to see the before and after photos?

  4. I would LOVE to try geocaching. Never got round to it but its on my to-try-sometime list.

God, defrosting a freezer is just the worst. I always end up with the lake thing going on, no matter what I do :/
