Hopes for 2014 - Revisited

Back in January I wrote a list of goals for the year; now the year’s almost halfway through, I thought I’d have a look and see just how useless I’ve been with it!

2014 resolutions - revisited

Tick a few more things from my 32 Before 32 list

Possibly not doing too well with this one, need to get meself in gear to do a few more in the next six months.

Try and feature a few more craft/food/outfit type posts on here

Umm..that’s probably a nope. It is still something I’d like to do though!

Take part in Janey's (from Is That You Darling) Photo an Hour challenge once a month

Yes! Finally one that I’ve actually accomplished! A full list of all the photo an hour challenges can be found here.

Wear brighter lipstick

I’m trying, really I am. I still feel self-conscious wearing bright colours at work but when I go out I’ve been testing a few different shades. My problem is I apply it, then forget I’m wearing it, it wears off and then I never get round to redoing it.

Make more time to sit down and read books

Kind of. When we were at Selwood Steam Rally the other weekend, I managed to read 5 books (although two were childrens ones) but I still don’t seem to have time to read much at home. I set myself a challenge last summer to do with travel and reading (called Read Around the UK) but haven’t yet got round to posting a review of anything. I will try and do the first one soon, I promise.

Take part in Ema's 52 Lists project

Yup, done (and still ongoing!)

Try and keep my life a bit simpler

Well, my diary does still look quite full but I feel as if I have a little bit more time this year than I did last year. I gave up being an Avon Lady back in January which is a lot less hassle and faff and I did put my Masters degree on hold for a bit while we were going through IVF treatment so that helped as well. Obviously it’s still not as free as I’d like it to be otherwise I’d be on track with my craft/food/outfit goal!

Did you make any plans for 2014? If you did, how you getting on so far?

  1. I'll keep my fingers crossed that, as your life (hopefully!) simplifies, you find more time for reading, crafting, and posting photos of you in lovely lipsticks :) My goals for this year were to take more pride in appearances for my home and myself (not to the level of vanity- just slightly above my usual level of serious laziness!!), spend more time on my hobbies, and learn the phonetic alphabet. I've got about 20 letters memorised, I've made some stuff this year, and the house has remained reasonably clean. I'm counting that as a win. xxx

    1. Ooh the phonetic alphabet is a good one (my dad was a CB and ham radio person so I used to hear the NATO phonetic alphabet all the time when I was young) plus spending time on hobbies is always a good thing. I think you're definitely winning so far! :-) xxx

  2. I think I've you kept to at least one goal, then it's a success! Plus, you still have 6 months to keep working on it all! haha
