And we certainly seem to be having a lot of those at the moment!
One thing we like to do on a rainy evening is play board games. We actually have a games cupboard in our dining room, complete with the usual Scrabble and Monopoly as well as more unusual games such as The Great Game of Britain and Pit.
So in no particular order, our favourite games to play on a rainy day are...
Pit
Scrabble
The Great Game of Britain
Card games (such as Rummy, Patience and Sevens)
Woof Woof
Monopoly (the Somerset edition)
What do you think? Are board games for life or just for Christmas?

Definitely for life - we also have a large stash and are always looking for excuses to play them :)

DeleteYou cannot beat a board game-athon! We invested in Articulate over Christmas which is brill...it's a struggle to get C involved but he loves it when he gives in to us girlies!

DeleteBoard games are one of mine and my boyfriends favourite things to do, at the moment we're working through an incredibly long Risk war but we get the cards out for a short Sunday afternoon game too! They're also great to take to the pub or a cafe, they make a brilliant convo topic or ice breaker for old and new friends alike :)

Gosh, I haven't played Risk for years! One of my friend had it when I was at school and we used to play quite a bit but that was years ago now. Cards are fab, you can do so much with them either in a group or on your own - we always make sure to take some on holiday. :-) x
DeleteBoard games are definitely for life. I love Bananagrams, Balderdash, and Cards Against Humanity. The last two go really well with a group of friends and several bottles of wine. xxx

we rarely play board games at home though we do enjoy travel connect four when we go camping and also have travel othelo which i can never get the hang of!
ReplyDeleteOoh I used to have Connect 4 as a kid, I remember playing it for ages with my Gran - I don't think I've played it for years! We tend to take cards on holiday with us and Andrew has a Travel Solitaire game which he sometimes takes along as well. :-) x
DeleteMe and the bf love board games. We also have a game cupboard. I think our favourite at the moment is Ankh Morpork - the Terry Pratchett book series game. It's really fun, kind of like a mix of risk and cluedo :) x
