We have mostly been...
Partying - (although that makes it sound like getting drunk til 3 in the morning...)
At a joint 65th and 70th birthday party (a 135th birthday party?) at a lovely little pub called the Hare and Hounds in Bath.
Gorgeous flowers on the patio at the Hare and Hounds - Birthday cake!
For starters: bread, salmon and goat's cheese tart - The in-laws enjoying a glass of wine
Exploring - an 1827 folly called Beckford's Tower on the outskirts of Bath.
The birthday boy and girl had booked to stay at Beckford's Tower (you can book a self-catering flat through The Landmark Trust) and after the party, invited us back for tea and biscuits, and a walk up the 154 spiral steps to the top of the tower.
Inside the self catering acommodation in Beckford's Tower - Lansdown Cemetary - The top of the tower
Feeding - the whole family for Father's Day.
We made Chicken and Ham Pie, with roast potatoes and vegetables and a slightly re-designed St Clements Pie for dessert!
What did you get up to at the weekend?
Nothing as exciting as you! Looks like a fab weekend, and love the look of the St Clements Pie!
ReplyDeleteIt was very tasty - the recipe is from BBC Good Food, although I'm sure their quantities are out as the mixture actually made two pies! x
DeleteI want to live in that tower! My weekend involved rarely leaving the house as always! Boring!
ReplyDeleteYou can stay at the bottom of the tower (for a small fortune, of course!) if you book through The Landmark Trust - it's a very opulent and colourful flat! x
DeleteThose steps are making me dizzy! Sounds like a lovely weekend :)

It was very strange - going up the steps was fine but coming down, every so often you'd have to grab the handrail and stop for a second! :-) x
