A Photo Every Hour - Saturday 21st May

The last of the photo an hour catch-up posts (which I'm sure you'll all be glad to hear!), May's date fell on Saturday 21st.

Here's what the day looked like...

10am - Photo an hour started a bit late that day as 6am in the morning saw a poorly baby who was being sick and taking no interest in feeding. A quick call to 111 told us to take her to A&E (because she was under 6 months) to be checked over. They said everything was fine and it was probably a stomach bug and by 9.30am she fancied a feed again and then slept long enough to drive home via a stop at McDonalds for breakfast :-)

11am - Starting to feel a little bit better...

12pm - But still very sleepy.

1pm - Definitely feeling perkier now!

2pm - Last of the antibiotics from having mastitis at the beginning of the month.

3pm - Catching up with some TV (Hinterland, yay!) while the little one was sleeping.

4pm - Snack time :-)

5pm - And back to our local hospital for a follow-up appointment after the morning (she was fine!).

6pm - After the drama of the day, neither of us felt like cooking...

7pm - Dinner time for Lily too.

8pm - Tea!

9pm - And just before bedtime, a beautiful rainbow!

An A-Z of Me - X

Bit of a difficult one, X, the only thing I could think of was:

X-rays - In my 33 years, I've broken my left wrist, right wrist (thankfully not at the same time) and my right ankle so I've had rather a lot of them!

What 'X' things sum you up?

This Little Big Life: Father's Day & Raspberries

Even though I don't get round to commenting on many blogs nowadays, I do still read an awful lot of them. One of my absolute favourites is run by the truly lovely Sarah over at Sarah Rooftops.

A few weeks ago I noticed herself and another blogger, Louise from Squished Blueberries (a new-to-me blog) had started a new link called 'This Little Big Life' - all about capturing the little moments (which make up a big life) from a weekend with the post going live the following Friday. That sounded like a lovely idea so I thought I'd join in.

Saturday was fairly quiet with a bit of TV watching and a bit of unpacking from our week in Cornwall. The big news was that someone learned to blow her version of a raspberry.

Sunday was Andrew's first Father's Day. I dressed Lily in an OTT 'Daddy' top, presents were handed over and we went for a drive ending up at a McDonald's (Andrew's choice!).

Pop over to Sarah's blog and Louise's blog to see what they got up to!

A Photo Every Hour - Saturday 23rd April

April's photo an hour fell on Saturday 23rd - a fairly average day at home.

Here's what the day looked like...

8am - Excited to be listening to Radio 2's Sounds of the Sixties!

9am - Attempting to knock the toy off the edge of the ring (whilst we were cooking breakfast!).

10am - Setting TV timers (and making sure we don't miss the new series of one of our favourite programmes).

11am - Why do babies always have the best prints and designs?

12pm - Feeding time...

1pm - And now sleepy time!

2pm - Off to visit Nannie and Grampy.

3pm - Household chores.

4pm - Back from her walk and clearly very hungry!

5pm - Catching up with one of my favourite magazines (which has sadly been discontinued, boo!)

6pm - Prepping dinner.

7pm - Watching TV whilst dinner's in the oven.

8pm - Dinner is served!

9pm - And lastly, someone decided to fall asleep on me so we stayed like that for a while and then went to bed!

I was supposed to be rounding up that month's photo an hour-ers but a week later I ended up in hospital with mastitis that developed into an abscess (lovely) and ended up spending pretty much the whole month of May on antibiotics and painkillers. On her blog, Jane very helpfully rounded everyone up in my absence!

The Eleven Things Tag

A long long time ago, the lovely Denise from The Life of Dee tagged me to take part in the Eleven Things Tag. I bookmarked her post and then never got round to completing the questions.

So here we are...

1. What is your earliest childhood memory?
Going to visit my mum and brother in hospital when he was born. I remember my grandparents buying me penny sweets from a newsagent on the way there and I remember seeing him inside an incubator and asking, "how do they change his nappy?" I would have been 2 years and 10 months old.

 2. If you could change one aspect of your life ie hairstyle, career what would it be?
Being able to sing. I'm quite good at following a dance routine but holding a tune? No can do.

 3. What is your favourite decade, (can be before your time)?
Probably the 1950's (or at least, the rose-tinted rock 'n' roll view of the 1950's!)

 4. How would you spend your ideal day?
Well, at the moment I'd settle for being able to eat my dinner hot, with two hands and in peace. Usually though, any of these would do: a day at the seaside, going to the theatre (preferably to see Kneehigh), being at the Edinburgh Fringe or visiting Carter's Steam Fair.

 5. Who was your teenage crush?
I don't really remember having any major crushes but I did have the usual early 90's Take That posters on my bedroom wall.

 6. Do you call your evening meal; dinner, tea or supper?
I call it dinner, Andrew calls it tea!

 7. What was your first ever blog post? (link it too)
An introductory post called 'Adventures in Blogland'.

 8. You are stuck on a desert island, which 3 things would you have with you?
Am I allowed a boat and supply of food? And possibly a decent sailor man to steer my boat back home?

 9. Show us the last photo on your phone (no cheating!)
Trying to get a picture of today's outfit! No editing or cropping either - the only thing I've done to the picture is turn it the right way up :-)

 10. What is your favourite perfume?
I don't have a particular one, instead I have several nice smelling bottles from various places which I just use as and when I fancy.

 11. Can you speak another language?
No. I learnt German at school, Spanish for a year at uni and apparently could count to 10 in Welsh when I was young but apart from a few random words here and there (plus some half-decent Welsh pronunciations), I can't actually speak another language.

As it was such a long time I'm not going to tag anyone or do a list of questions but if anyone fancies doing the same ones as me, feel free!

A Photo Every Hour - Sunday 27th March

March's photo an hour was chosen by me and fell on Easter Sunday! We were on our first family holiday, off to Anglesey with my parents and brother in one chalet and our new little family in the one next door.

Here's what the day looked like...

10am - Her usual wake-up time is about 6am so it was quite a novelty for her to still be in bed and sleepy at 10am (even if she was feeding!)

11am - A sunny Easter morning!

12pm - This is what she thought of being carried around in the sling...

1pm - My brother (and parents) came over for late brunch and he seemed to be enjoying his novelty Easter boppers!

2pm - Brunch (if you can call it that at 2pm!)

3pm - Lily's first Easter card!

4pm - Cuddles with her Taid (North Wales Welsh for granddad) while me and Andrew had a quick swim in the site pool.

5pm - Post-feed face.

6pm - Smiles with daddy.

7pm - Multi-tasking.

8pm - Little feet asleep!

9pm - Still reading the same book as January's photo an hour...

10pm - Last cup of tea before bed.
